I estimate a 2013-ish one. I wanted to update the thing, so I popped in an ethernet cable and ran the procedure. The downloading however got stuck at 99, so I turned off the PS3 and tried to update from a USB stick. The device recognised the firmware and it has been saying 'Please wait' for like half an hour now.
1. Verify the PS4 USB port is actually working. If the PS button on your controller isn't working, first make sure that the USB connector is properly inserts inside the USB port and in a good contact. There's a chance it may not be completely inserted or jammed so try using something like a bobby pin to push it into place (be careful!).

to enter recovery: Press on hold power button -> 1st beep -> continue to press and old -> 2nd beep. the console shuts down. By that, you reseted the console display. Then, press on hold power button again -> 1st beep -> continue to press and old -> double beep -> release the button. now you should be in the recovery.
